Rare tickets guarantee that rare eggs will spawn during the expedition. You can join other people's quests without having a ticket on hand.
If you plan on creating a Co-op Expedition quest, you'll need to purchase an Expedition Ticket from Melyx Inc. Co-op Slay and Expedition quests both revolve around taking down a boss monster, but the latter also includes multiple monster nests, giving you the chance to grab several eggs before heading home. Time quests task you with taking down a target monster in a set amount of time. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin's Co-op quests come in three different flavors. Pick the smiley face if you want to play alongside friends or the globe if you're fine with playing with or against anyone.
Next to each option, you'll notice two icons. Selecting Online Play at the top lets you pick between Co-op quests and Versus Battles. Selecting it grants two other options, the bottom one being Multiplayer Setup.Īlthough it'll be available later, you'll want to take some time and check it out, as it lets you select equipment, stickers, and the Monstie party – limited to just three creatures – that comes with you into Monster Hunter Stories 2's co-op. Once you defeat it and answer Alwin's challenge, you'll notice that quest boards in the game's main hub areas now have a Multiplayer option.
